Rosie Bergonzi
Rosie Bergonzi is a graduate of The Guildhall School of Music & Drama, having completed her masters in Advanced Instrumental Study in 2016 and being awarded a Fellowship in Percussion the following year. She’s currently touring with singer Neneh Cherry and has recently finished a run of Richard II at the Shakespeare’s Globe. Rosie is a founding member of the all female percussion group Beaten Track Ensemble. She is part of Handpan and Saxophone duo Boubakiki who released their debut EP in January 2018.
In addition to performing, Rosie is also passionate about creating music in a community setting. She leads and facilitates workshops including collaborative song-writing and instrumental pieces; and presenting sharings. She’s recently worked with English National Opera, Spitalfields Music, Wigmore Hall, Aurora Orchestra and the Chineke! Foundation to deliver music sessions to groups across the UK. She is a Live Music Now musician with Boubakiki, taking classical music into unusual settings.
In her spare time Rosie likes to do Karate and is currently studying comedy improvisation with the theatre Hoopla.
