Our new Ambassador

February 2026

At Creative Futures we are thrilled to announce that Konya Kanneh-Mason will be joining as our Ambassador. An esteemed concert pianist, Konya is also a violinist, educator and writer. We are delighted to have Konya’s support for our work and look forward to many exciting collaborations. 

Konya Kanneh-Mason held The Gilling Family Scholarship at The Royal Academy of Music, where she studied piano and violin. Konya has played solo recitals and concerti around the UK and toured Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, USA and Canada, Europe with her siblings. Konya has also appeared with her siblings at the 2018 BAFTAs and at the 2021 BBC Proms performing Saint-Saens Carnival of the Animals. She has appeared on numerous television and radio programmes, including the BAFTAs, Britain’s Got Talent, and the Imagine documentary for BBC1, This House is Full of Music. In 2023 she co-presented a radio programme for Classic FM, The Kanneh-Mason Family Takeover. Whilst still an active musician, Konya is also pursuing the career of an author and is currently writing children’s books.

Singing is such a powerful medicine that just an hour of song a week can quickly help children with hearing difficulties to hear much better. “It’s definitely effective. Some of the year groups I’ve worked with have seen a massive difference even after one term,” said Phoebe, of Creative Futures, a charity which works to help children's development through music and arts.

Creative Futures was the lucky beneficiary of a special event held at specialist music instrument auctioneers Ingles & Hayday recently. The event featured a performance by a brilliant string trio from the Royal College of Music – Henry Chandler, Bryony Gibson-Cornish and Timothée Botbol – which led us to reflect on pathways into music for children, especially those from more disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds.
